Day Two: No pictures, please...

Hey Jerks. It was day two yesterday, and while I didn't do any walkathons, or anything else of the sort, I passed up some very tempting treats. Chocoate frosted brownies. Mackinac Island Fudge Ice Cream. Double Chocolate Chocolate Chocolates. ETC.!!!

Getting fit isn't about busting your back every day, trying to sweat yourself into oblivion. It's more about making healthy lifestyle choices. It's about passing up the midday bowl of chips instead of eating a carrot instead. It's about not having a soda and drinking water instead. These aren't difficult things to do. It's just about consuming less calories than you burn. Pretty simple really. It just takes patience.

So - if you take anything from this post - take this: It's not one big difficult change. It's a lot of little, easy ones. It really isn't that hard to not eat a candy bar or have some Doritos whilst watching a movie. Just replace it with something else. Or just steer your brain in a different direction. Do something active so the compulsive urge to eat slips your mind. When you want to have that snack, is it really because you're hungry? Or do you just want to eat, like it's a hobby? Most often when I'm tempted to eat garbage, it's just because I'm bored and food is delicious. But it's rarely what my body needs.

So there you have it. Make healthy choices. Eat lots of vegetables. Lots of fiber. Lots of water. It's also okay to eat some tasty "cheater" food occasionally. This is a war, not a battle, so it's okay to have that Kit Kat every now and again.

DAY TWO!

No pictures! Hence the title of this post.

Keep on keepin' on,
Andrew.
